Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) organized a Training of Trainers (ToT) programme for Airline Customer Service and Airline Cabin Crew job roles from 15 March- 18 March 2021
under Skills for Jobs project in collaboration with the Aerospace and Aviation Sector Skills Council (AASSC). The training was delivered virtually on the MS teams platform by experts from Cardiff and Vale College (CAVC), the UK to 25+ participants from India.
During an inaugural session, Ms Anu Gupta, Head- Skills and Inclusion, FCDO India welcomed guest speakers, expert trainers, and the participants. Mr Jeremy Pilmore- Bedford, Deputy High Commissioner, Government of UK, in his opening remarks, spoke to recognize the valuable knowledge such ToTs bring to the overall skills ecosystem. Further, in the inaugural session, Ms Juthika Patankar, Additional Secretary in Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship, expressed keen interest on behalf of MSDE to work with FCDO towards achieving the vision laid under the Skill India mission and Mr Amber Dubey, Joint Secretary in Ministry of Civil Aviation, complimented all stakeholders for coming together to make formal skills training programmes a key focus for aerospace and aviation sector in India. Mr Rachit Bhatnagar, CEO, AASSC, delivered the closing remarks and announced the beginning of the four-day virtual ToT programme.
The first two days of the training were focused on domain skills covering modules customized to the respective qualification packs and contextualized to sector demands in India. The next two days were focused on platform skills to introduce the participants to techniques of classroom teaching. After completion of the training programme, upon successful completion of the assessment, participants will be certified as trainers for respective job roles by AASSC/ NSDC.
At the end of the training programme, Mr Sanjay Valsangkar, Head- Skills and Business Engagement, FCDO India gave a vote of thanks to all those who have contributed to the success of the virtual training programme. The participants shared that they look forward to more such training to help them advance their skill set and be up to date with the advancements in the sector.
