Vijayawada: Andhra Pradesh State Skill Development Corporation (APSSDC) in partnership with Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) and Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University-Anantapur (JNTUA) entered Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to set-up a Model Career Center (MCC) in Anantapur.
A tripartite agreement between APSSDC, CII and JNTUA has also been signed as JNTU-A will be hosting this centre on their campus. The MoU was exchanged by the Deputy CEO Krithika Shukla, CII and JNTUA officials in the presence of APSSDC MD and CEO K Sambasiva Rao.
The MCC will connect local youth and other job-seekers with all possible job opportunities in a transparent and effective manner with technology as well as through counselling and training.
MCCs will leverage the industry linkage and strength of CII through its membership of 9,000 direct and 3 lakh indirect members for linking youth to jobs. MCCs will facilitate registrations, career counselling, psychometric assessments, soft skills/ IT skills/ pre-employment preparation training and placements.
APSSDC MD and CEO K Sambasiva Rao said that such centers will be set up in all the 13-district headquarters in a phased manner to cater to the local students and unemployed youth of each district.
The proposed MCC will have a capacity to counsel and train around 5,000 candidates and provide employment, apprenticeship opportunities to around 3,500 candidates per year, cumulatively providing about 33,500 placements over a period of five years, he added.
