Gurugram: A momentous Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was formally signed today at the IICA Campus in Manesar, Gurugram, forging a promising partnership between the Indian Institute of Corporate Affairs (IICA) and the Skill Council for Persons with Disability (SCPwD).
The primary objective of this MoU is to harness the collective expertise of SCPwD and IICA, with the shared mission of providing corporations with the necessary knowledge, skills, and competencies to effectively cultivate and manage diverse workforces. This collaboration will leverage the various entities operating under the aegis of SCPwD and IICA.
The partnership aims to drive initiatives that enhance inclusivity and diversity within the corporate landscape. SCPwD, in conjunction with IICA, will spearhead efforts through skill courses on “Qualification – Job Coach for Inclusivity (JCI)” programmes or otherwise in diverse areas.
By combining the strengths of these two respected institutions, the MoU sets the stage for groundbreaking advancements in building a more inclusive and skilled workforce, ultimately contributing to a more equitable and prosperous society.
Dr. Garima Dadhich, Head of School of Business Environment, IICA and Shri Ravindra Singh, CEO, SCPWD signed the MoU.
The MoU was signed in the presence of the DG & CEO, IICA, Shri Praveen Kumar, who acknowledged the importance of this initiative and highlighted that the Corporates and other organisations are expected to promote the inclusion of differently abled people among their workforce, the IICA-SCPWD Collaboration will result in to building capacities of Corporate representatives and other such stakeholders who wish to make their move in Diversity and Inclusion arena.
Dr. Dadhich emphasised that it’s a timely initiative, as the movement of diversity and inclusion in India needs to be strengthened and impactful capacity building and creating a cadre of persons who specialise in facilitation of the employment and post-employment adaptation and support to differently-abled persons in corporates and other organisations. Shri Ravindra Singh added that the capacity building of the corporates is required in order to provide a conducive environment to the PwDs employed by them. Dr. Ravi Raj Atrey, Chief Programme Executive, SoBE, IICA and Dr. Niharika Nigam, Head, S&QA, SCPWD are the Nodal officers for executing the collaboration.
