The Chhattisgarh Government’s Directorate of Employment and Training (DET) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with India’s largest passenger car maker Maruti Suzuki India Limited (MSIL).
The MoU was signed by Commissioner-cum-Secretary of Directorate of Employment and Training SS Bajaj and Senior Vice President of Maruti Suzuki India Ltd Mukesh Kumar Gupta.
As per the MoU, Maruti Suzuki India Limited will render support in overall skill development of trainees and trainers of five ITIs of Chhattisgarh Government for next five years. These ITIs are operating in Mana, Raipur, Durg, Bhilai and Bilaspur. In these ITIs, advanced training and apprenticeship training of machine-equipment repairing and other trades as per industry-needs. Besides, trainees of these ITIs will also be provided on-the-job training facility in local centres. Meritorious students of these ITIs will be provided placement assistance by the company.
Selected candidates from these ITIs will be provided free residential training in courses of automobile sector at Training Academy of Maruti Suzuki India Limited at Gurgaon.
In this MoU signing ceremony, Additional Director of Directorate Employment and Training Ranjana Katakwar and Joint Director Suresh Tripathi and other senior officials as well as office-bearers of Maruti Suzuki were also present.
MSIL had previously signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Chhattisgarh’s Transport Department to establish a state-of-art ‘Institute of Driving & Traffic Research’ (IDTR) in Naya Raipur, officials here informed.
The MoU was signed by Additional Commissioner of Chhattisgarh’s Transport Department O P Pal and Associate Vice President (AVP), Driving Training, MSIL, Mahesh Rajoria. As per the MoU, the Chattisgarh Government will provide the land and infrastructure for setting up the institute while MSIL will manage and operate the facility besides providing necessary training vehicles, simulators and also trainers. Maruti Suzuki India Limited has provided equipment worth `25 lakh to State Government’s Industrial Training Institute in Durg.
