New Delhi : Seeking to impart necessary skills and empower women in securing their livelihood for a better socio-economic profile, the National Skill Development Fund (NSDF), National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) and Balrampur Chini Mills Ltd today signed a tripartite Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).
The MOU was signed in the august presence of Mr. Rajesh Agrawal, Joint Secretary & CVO, Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship and Mr. Manish Kumar, MD & CEO, NSDC and Mr. Nitin Bagaria, Company Secretary & GM (Legal), Balrampur Chini Mills Limited (BCML).
The programme aims at providing skill development training to 1000 women in Noida, Uttar Pradesh across functionary roles of Retail Trainee Associate (Retail) and Retail Sales Associate (Retail). The project will run over duration of 24 months to empower women from various rural and urban areas of Uttar Pradesh. This programme will offer economic security and stability for women by facilitating employment opportunities in industry as well as via self-employment. The MOU aims at ensuring 70% employment to train and certified women.
NSDC will ascertain that all training programmes are National Skill Qualification Framework (NSQF), Qualification Pack (QP) and National Occupation Standard (NOS) compliant and also as per standards mandated by the Sector Skill Councils (SSCs).
Announcing the collaboration, Mr. Manish Kumar, MD & CEO, NSDC, said: “Such synergized steps are pivotal to accomplish the goals of the Prime Minister’s Skill India Mission. The convergence of government and private enterprise helps in significant improvement and effective skilling as well as in accelerating inclusive growth.”
Appreciating the collaboration, Mr. Rajesh Agrawal, Joint Secretary and CVO, Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, Government of India, stated, “We are elated to see corporate participation in imparting skills training for youth. Moreover, women’s participation in shaping the future of the country is imperative. Skills training should be our primary focus, since it is crucial for inclusive growth and in ensuring every citizen participates in the overall growth of the country.”
Commenting on the initiative, Mr. Nitin Bagaria, Company Secretary and GM (Legal), Balrampur Chini Mills Limited, shared “This initiative by Balrampur Chini Mills is in continuation of our commitment to contribute for skill development as means of livelihood for bringing social and economic change to the underprivileged sections of the society.”
