New Delhi : Reference to e-mail dated 22.05.2019 from NSDC to Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship regarding the modalities for considering apprentices as placed under Short Term Training (STT) of Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY), in this regard, the in-principal approval of Competent Authority (MSDE) is conveyed with regard to modalities for considering apprentices as placed under Short Term Training (STT) of PMKVY for effective implementation of scheme with immediate effect.
The modalities for considering apprentices as placed under STT of PMKVY 2016-2020 are as under:
- Apprenticeship shall be considered as valid placement under PMKVY 2016-2020.
- The Training Providers (TPs) / Training Centers (TCs) under PMKVY 2016-2020, shall have to register candidates employed under apprenticeship on apprenticeship portal (www.apprenticeshipindia.org). The contract generated shall be considered as a valid proof of employment for placement verification.
- The TPs/TCs shall upload the details of candidates by selecting ‘Apprenticeship’ under type of employment on the placement portal. Documents and information to be uploaded on the placement portal are as follows:
a. Apprenticeship contract generated from the National Apprenticeship Promotion Scheme (NAPS) Portal shall have to be uploaded on the placement portal for respective candidates by the TPs/TCs.
b. An Apprenticeship registration contract number, generated from the NAPS portal, shall have to be entered in the portal along with the apprenticeship contract on the placement portal.
c. No salary slip and / or bank statement is required for candidates registered as apprentice.

Only post successful desk verification of the apprenticeship registration number and the contract uploaded against the candidate by the respective TCs, as well as 3 month continuation of apprenticeship, the candidate shall be considered as placed for the purpose of financial disbursement as per PMKVY 2016-2020 scheme norms.
