Chandigarh : In order to provide employment to the students of Industrial Training Institutions (ITIs) under the National Apprenticeship Promotion Scheme (NAPS), the Central Government has earmarked a budget of Rs. 10,000 crore, out of which Rs 9 crore has been allocated to the Haryana State.
While giving this information, an official spokesman said that students of ITI should take benefit of the scheme as 25,000 apprenticeships would be engaged in Haryana every month.
He said that 1400 apprenticeships would be engaged every month under this scheme in Sonepat district alone. In this series, two workshops were organized in Sonipat. While workers of ITI, district industry center etc were participated in one workshop, the second one was attended by industrialists under the banner of various industrial associations in which implementation of NAPS was discussed in detail.
It was informed that all the government departments will engage apprentices. These will be engaged under the contract and outsourcing policy. The best performing departments in this direction will be rewarded. Special instructions were given to ITI principals in this context. All kinds of information should be provided in the context of the Apprentices on the portal of the NAPS.
It was also informed that reservation will be applicable in the Apprentice, as 20 percent reservation for SC students and 27 percent reservation for OBC has been given.
During the workshop, the industrialists of Sonipat, Kundli, Rai, Barhi gave positive feedback while showing special enthusiasm. The industrialists and their representative s who participated under the banner of various industrial associations assured that they would recruit 2500 apprenticeships in their industrial units within the next six months. In the initial month, 400 applicants will be engaged.
