RFPs invited from Training Partners for “Urjamitra Solar Water Pump Training Program”

Environment Conservation Society (SwitchON Foundation) is an award-winning not-for-profit organization. Since 2008, SwitchON Foundation has led many innovative projects and incubated several admiringly successful ventures and initiatives, impacting 5000 rural and remote villages; 10,00,000 lives of underprivileged across Eastern, Western, and North Eastern States of India.

SwitchON Foundation is seeking proposals from NGO’s/Training Institutions etc to apply as a training partner for its flagship program “Urjamitra Solar Water Pump Training Program”. 

Scope :

India has been a pioneer in the widespread use of solar pumps. By 2022, the government expects to have installed 1.75 million solar pumps under the KUSUM initiative, along with solar systems for another 1 million grid-connected pumps. Because of the many benefits, it has led to an increase in the demand for solar pump technicians.

The objectives:

The overall purpose of the Urjamitra Solar Water Pump Training Program is to provide adequate skill through the conduction of workshops and training programs to various stakeholders. This includes:

1. Solar farmers Workshop – Workshops for farmers and SHGs at GP, Block, and Municipality level for understanding the value of solar pump technicians.
2. Solar Youth Workshop – Workshops at Govt. ITI & Polytechnics to ignite the interest of candidates to take further training on solar pump technicians.
3. Solar Introductory Training – This will provide a one-month training program after completion of the workshops conducted at the colleges.
4. Solar Advance training – The advanced training on solar pump technician/solar PV installer(electrical) to enhance vocational skills of unemployed youth.
5. Solar Entrepreneurship training – Hands-on training to be provided before the certification
6. Solar financing training – Training to be provided to bankers and NBFC officials to facilitate the loan applications.
