DRDO laboratory Instruments Research and Development Establishment (IRDE), Dehradun has issued a notification inviting online applications for 30 apprenticeship trainee positions for a period of one year. The DRDO apprentice positions are available for various trades such as machinist, electroplater, and so on. Selected candidates would be entitled to a stipend as allowed by the Apprentices Act 1961.
Who can Apply for DRDO Apprenticeship?
As per the notification, which will appear in the employment newspaper between 6 and 12 July 2019, there are 30 positions in different trades such as machinist, electroplater, fitter, draughtsman, molder, painter, and turner. Candidates who have completed ITI (industrial training institute) in the relevant trade under NCVT scheme (National Council for Vocational Training), and above 14 years of age can apply. Candidates should have passed 10th standard or equivalent with science as a subject under 10 plus 2 education system.
ITI is constituted under DGT (Directorate General of Training), Ministry of skill development and entrepreneurship, and the Union government to provide training in various trades.

How to Apply for DRDO Apprenticeship?
All applications will be accepted online only, and candidates who fulfill the required eligibility criteria can apply on http://www.apprenticeship.gov.in, within 15 days of the date of publishing of the news in the employment newspaper. Also, candidates are required to submit the acknowledgment of online application along with the related document by post or by hand to the Director, IRDE, Raipur Road, Dehradun 248008. Candidates will be selected based on a written test and interview. Furthermore, the selected Apprenticeship Trainee cannot claim for regular absorption into IRDE or any other DRDO laboratory as they would be appointed for a period of one year only. Interested candidates are advised to go through the notification in detail before applying for the DRDO Apprenticeship trainee positions.
