South Central Railway collaborated APSSDC, launched Free of Cost skill training program for youth

Amravati : As a first of its kind initiative, South Central Railway has introduced a unique program for imparting Skill Development Courses to wards and dependents of Railway Employees and also to local youth and people residing in Guntakal Town at the Skill Development Centre set up at Divisional Office premises, Guntakal Division.

This free of cost program commences from 3rd June, 2019 and is being taken up in association with Andhra Pradesh State Skill Development Corporation (APSSDC), Amaravati for improving the technical skills and for quick placements in different small-scale industries. Initially courses pertaining to –

i) Multi Skill Electrician: House wiring, domestic appliances repair, motor winding (Eligibility: – 10th class and above, course duration 45 to 60 days)
ii) Computer Courses: MS-Office, Word, Excel, Power point (Eligibility: – 10th class and above, course duration 30 to 60 days)
iii) Hospitality Course: 03 days training program only to the Railway Staff dealing with public

Interested candidates can register on  www.apssdc.in/scrguntakaldivision2019.com from 25.05.2019 to 31.05.2019 up to 05.00 pm.

Offline registration is also permitted from 25.05.2019 to 31.05.2019 up to 05.00 pm by duly submitting their applications at Skill Development Centre, DRM Office, Guntakal. Depending upon the number of candidates – batches will be fixed.

Further, the following courses will also be started shortly: –

For Women:
1) Tailoring
2) Beautician Course

For Youth:
1) Welding
2) Communication skills

Training in Small Scale Industries:
1) Candle making
2) Incense sticks

The Andhra Pradesh Skill Development Corporation (APSSDC) has also agreed to start Skill Development Courses for the students from 6th class onwards studying in Railway School English Medium, Guntakal as a co-curricular activity from the academic year 2019-20.

This unique initiative has been taken up under the guidance of Shri Vijay P. Singh Divisional Railway Manager, Guntakal Division and earned appreciation from Shri Gajanan Mallya, General Manager, SCR who lauded the Guntakal Division for taking the lead in the objective towards enhancing the skills of youth to make them gainfully employed.
