New Delhi : Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India Pvt. Ltd. has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Directorate of Training and Technical Education (DTTE) to provide industry specific job oriented education to students of two Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) in Delhi at Jaffarpur and Nand Nagri.
Under the MoU, the auto company will provide units of India’s largest selling two-wheeler, Activa and CB Shine. Additionally, Honda is investing fully functional service workshops with tools in the two ITIs. The benefit of this MoU is to empower youth with industry relevant infrastructure and quality skills.
DTTE is Delhi government’s nodal body for providing technical manpower.
Prabhu Nagraj, Vice President – Customer Service, Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India Pvt. Ltd. said, “Indian automotive industry’s contribution to GDP is set to almost double by 2026. Industry needs to contribute in generating skilled manpower to realise this growth. With Honda’s MoU with DTTE, students can now have more industry relevant skills and increase their employability chances. Contributing to further boost the industry, Honda 2Wheelers will be collaborating with more ITIs in India in the next financial year.” On completion of training, Honda will also provide recruitment opportunities to candidates at Honda 2Wheelers India dealerships.
