Kolkata : Taking its skill development commitment further, Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India Pvt. Ltd. inaugurated Honda Skill Enhancement Centre under National Skill Development Corporation – Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Kendra (NSDC-PMKK) scheme in Kolkata.
The inauguration was done in the august presence of Mr. Nitin Aggarwal, Promoter, Orion Edutech Pvt. Ltd.) and Mr. Bikram Das, State Engagement Officer (NSDC) Kolkata along with senior dignitaries of Honda 2Wheelers.
‘Honda Skill Enhancement Centre’ established in NSDC-PMKK Kolkata will provide authentic platform to students for practicing trade specific skills on various aspects of vehicle maintenance and repair. Making them future ready, the industrial training will be imparted to the students in fully functional service workshops set up by Honda.
Speaking on the initiative, Mr Pradeep Pandey, Senior Vice President, Customer Service, Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India Pvt. Ltd. said “The Indian automotive industry is changing rapidly, thanks to the fast approaching deadline for BSVI emission norms. Surely the skilled manpower demand will go up, opening up employment opportunities for the youth. Hence, as a responsible corporate, Honda is taking various initiatives to promote skill development across the country. Creating a pool of skilled workforce through Honda Skill Enhancement Centres in India, we aim to empower youth and help them build a brighter future.”
Honda Skill Enhancement Centre established in NSDC-PMKK (Centre at Kakurguchi, Manichtala Main Road, Kolkata) will further create job opportunities for the students. On the completion of training, Honda will provide recruitment opportunities to candidates at Honda manufacturing plants and dealerships.
