IHCL and Tata Steel to set upSkill Centre in Jharkhand

MUMBAI – Indian Hotels Company (IHCL), India’s largest hospitality company, announced its partnership for a specialized skill center in Jamshedpur, Jharkhand in partnership with Tata Steel Long Products Ltd (TSLPL).

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Gaurav Pokhariyal, Executive Vice President, of Human Resources, IHCL said, Jharkhand is an important state with growing commercial and tourism potential. Skill building is one of the key initiatives of IHCL’s ESG + framework of Paathya. We are delighted to partner with Tata Steel Long Products Ltd towards building the talent pool for the industry and nurturing the hospitality leaders of tomorrow.

This program will train rural youths with a curriculum built around essential themes in the service industry. The first batch of 30 students with 85% women candidates, started their training at the Skill Centre located in the industrial area of Gamharia. The 45-day Bridge Program incorporates basics such as communication and personality skills, body language, and grooming in the training program. Besides allowing the students to gain live work experience with industrial visits, it also offers a one on one career advice and counseling.
