Srinagar : Mahindra Powerol, one of the largest diesel generator manufacturing companies of the country and a part of one of India’s biggest business conglomerates Mahindra Group, apart from business expansions in Kashmir is also keen on entering collaborations with ITIs and other institutions for skill development of youth, who can later become part of the industry.
Business head of Mahindra Powerol, Sachin Nijhawan said this while speaking to Greater Kashmir on the sidelines of the launch of a new Diesel Genset manufacturing plant at Rahim Engineering Works in Rangreth, a 14-year-old dealership of the company’s business eco-system”.
Nijhawan, who also inaugurated a skill training centre at Rahim Engineering Works, said Mahindra Powerol is looking at joining hands with ITIs and other institutions to impart skill training. “Our trainers often visit the Valley to impart skill-based training to youth. If we get support we will definitely go ahead with the tie-ups,” Nijhawan said.

Commenting on the corporate social responsibility initiatives of the company in Kashmir, Nijhawan said it has provided Rs 20 lakhs to NGO Athrout to procure dialysis machines and would keep further extending CSR support in the Valley. “We would like to continue our work in the areas of healthcare and environment,” he said.
Apart from Nijhawan, Mahindra Powerol’s VP Retail and International Business Sanjay Jain, Head OEM Development and Support Surojit Kundu and CEO Rahim Group of Companies, Abdul Hamid Bhat were also present at the inauguration.
