NASSCOM Foundation and Aricent launched ‘ARISE’, a skill development program for engineering college students from underserved communities who aspire to join the IT/ITes industry. The program aims to up-skill 3400 engineering undergraduates across Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, and Delhi-NCR regions in one year.
The initiative dubbed ARISE – Aricent Skills for Employability Program, is a CSR initiative by design and engineering company, Aricent, in partnership with the NASSCOM Foundation.
The on-campus training program will engage with 16 Tier-2 and Tier-3 engineering colleges, providing necessary job skills to first generation graduates from underserved communities.
Aricent and NASSCOM Foundation trained about 2700 students on employability driven skills last year, wherein many were able to secure jobs at MNCs such as Amazon, Dell, Tech Mahindra, and Wipro among others. The success of the pilot program gave rise to the ARISE initiative which aims to train 3400 students this year.
On completion of the skilling program, students will receive a joint certificate from the training partners who would also provide placement assistance for the candidates to get a job.
The training will be a mix of of online and classroom sessions where students would be trained in core technical skills like software testing, JAVA, SQL etc. and on oral and written communication, business etiquettes, and other soft skills.

iPRIMED, MindMap and Centum Learning, have been selected as the training partners who will carry out the on-campus skills development under the ARISE program.
