Tata Power Skill Development Institute introduces Maintenance Skills Course for mechanical and electrical engineers

Tata Power, India’s largest integrated power company through its skill development endeavor, Tata Power Skill Development Institute (TPSDI) has been successfully enhancing employability and uplifting the economic conditions of people in and around its operational areas. TPSDI is affiliated as a Training Partner with the Power Sector Skill Council (PSSC) of India. With the vision of making India the skill capital of the world, TPSDI offers a number of skill development programs to equip youth with employable skills. In line with this TPSDI has introduced a “Maintenance Skills Course” for mechanical and electrical engineers at Maithon and Jojobera.

Spanning 12 weeks, the course will offer maintenance skills training including two weeks of field training at a Tata Power site. The course will be conducted at TPSDI’s training centres in Maithon (near Dhanbad) and Jojobera (Jamshedpur), Jharkhand. Both these centres are equipped with state-of-the-art infrastructure and equipment, and the training is delivered by highly experienced faculty from the industry.

Commenting on the launch, Mr. Praveer Sinha, CEO & Managing Director, Tata Power shared, “Since its inception in 2015, TPSDI has been at the forefront of developing competencies for both blue and white collared workforce in the Power and allied sectors through its robust training methodology and skill development courses. Building on its expertise and experience gathered over the years, TPSDI is now offering new and enhanced training courses for Mechanical & Electrical Engineers. These courses prepare engineers fresh out of academia for the industry by augmenting their academic knowledge with employable skills. Training at TPSDI consists of both knowledge and hands-on skills.

TPSDI currently has training hubs at five locations in India leveraging the facilities of Tata Power: Shahad – Mumbai; Trombay – Mumbai; Maithon – Dhanbad, Mundra – Kutch, Gujarat and Jojobera – Jamshedpur.
