A UAE joint delegation from the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation and the Abu Dhabi Quality and Conformity Council visited India to discuss further cooperation with regard to labour skills development and to approve training and labour assessment centres.
The delegation’s visit builds on the visit of His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Abu Dhabi Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, to India in February. Their visit also has the base of letter of intent(LoI) signed between the UAE National Qualifications Authority and Indian Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship(MSDE).
During the visit, a memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed between the National Qualifications Authority(NQA) and the Indian Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship(MSDE). The MoU focuses on issues of mutual concern with a view to developing a joint skills framework based on basic principles and standards of National Qualifications Authority. The MoU aims to develop human resources in both countries through providing professional training programmes to raise the productivity of labour markets and achieve mutual acknowledgement of professional quantification. With immediate effect, a joint supreme committee as well as other joint technical teams were formed to oversee the implementation of the MoU.
The delegation met a number of Indian officials from the MSDEÂ and the Ministry of Rural Development(MoRD) and discussed mechanisms of implementing the MoU and its time plan with them.
