Nepal Govt. launches apprenticeship program under Swiss Government funding

Kathmandu : The government launched apprenticeship, an industry-based skills training programme in Province Number 1, on Thursday.

The training programme is backed by the Swiss government funded Enhanced Skills for Sustainable and Rewarding Employment programme.

The training programme was inaugurated by Province Number 1 Social Development Minister Jeevan Ghimire and aims to provide apprenticeships to 1,500 youth by 2019.

The launch of the apprenticeship programme was jointly organised by Council for Technical Education and Vocational Training and the Man Mohan Polytechnic Institute of Morang district.

According to the organiser, the vocational education and training during the apprenticeship will help individuals to get long-term job opportunities as they become competent workers with the skills matching the demand of the job market.
