Algeria and the United Nations (UN) expressed their will to ‘develop’ an exchange programme for cooperation in vocational training and education, in respect of the guidelines for the work of UN agencies in Algeria, the ministry of Professional Training and Education said in a statement.
“The two sides expressed their will to develop a programme for exchanges and cooperation in vocational training and education, in respect of the guidelines regarding the work of UN agencies in Algeria 2016-2020, as part of the United Nations programme relating to the sustainable development goals (SDGs)” the source said.
The will was expressed following the audience Minister of Professional Training and Education Mohamed Mebarki granted to Costa Amaral Ana Cristina, the resident coordinator of the UN system and representative of the United National Development Programme (UNDP) in Algeria.
During the meeting, the minister presented the main features of the Algerian professional training and education system, in terms of both quality and quantity. Mebarki emphasized the main lines of his sector’s action plan for the period 2015-2019. He shed light on his department’s guidelines in relation to the national strategy for human development at the service of economy. The strategy provides for support to priority vocational training courses paving the way for economic diversification.
