New Delhi : Shri Dharmendra Pradhan, Hon’ble Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas and Skill Development and Entrepreneurship attended the Global Skills Summit organized by Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce & Industry.
In order to prepare the country’s workforce for future job roles, Shri Pradhan announced the launch of new courses in emerging areas like Cyber Security, Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Big Data Analytics.
Shri Pradhan launched Qualification Packs and Model Curriculum for eleven new courses in Cyber Security skill training. These courses have been designed by IT & ITeS Sector Skill Council-NASSCOM in collaboration with National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC). On this occasion, Hon. Minister also unveiled a report on “Future of Jobs in India: A 2022 Perspective”
The event also saw the announcement of nineteen new courses that are currently under development for skill training in Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Big Data Analytics which will equip candidates for job roles like Applied Scientist, Data Engineer, Solution Architect among others. The Model Curriculum preparation for these courses is underway and would be rolled out for training later this year.
Speaking at the Global Skills Summit 2018, Shri Dharmendra Pradhan, Hon’ble Minister for Petroleum & Natural Gas and Skill Development and Entrepreneurship said: “Technology and innovation are changing the nature of jobs and the character of workplace. This is both a challenge as well as an opportunity. Our Government is giving special stress on skill development of our youth and making them ready for the jobs of future”.
He also said “India is now the favored investment destination for the world and is witnessing unprecedented formalization and digitization of economy”
