Skill Development ministry to facilitate development of 5 lakh Nano-Entrepreneurs by end of 2018

Kolkata : Union Minister of State for Skill Development and Entrepreneurship Ananta Kumar Hegde on Wednesday said the Ministry will facilitate development of 5 lakh nano-entrepreneurs by the end of this year.

The newly created Nirvana Fund will be utilized to cater to entrepreneurs from the bottom rungs of society, stated Mr Hegde.

He further informed in view of the growing importance of skill development, a special service called ‘Indian Skill Development Service’ will be introduced with the induction of 20 to 30 officers from this year.

The Minister was speaking at a lecture session titled ‘Human Resources Development for Socio-Economic Development’ on the 187th year of the Calcutta Chamber of Commerce here. Speaking on the occasion, Mr Hegde stated population can be turned into dividend by imparting skills to them.
