NSDC and PDEU Launch Centre of Excellence for Skill Development at Startup Mahakumbh

New Delhi: The National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC), in collaboration with Pandit Deendayal Energy University (PDEU), has announced the launch of a cutting-edge Centre of Excellence for Skill Development. The partnership was formalised through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) at the Startup Mahakumbh in New Delhi. This strategic initiative is designed to provide learners with practical, hands-on training in manufacturing-related skills across key sectors such as Energy, Health, Water, and Food. It also aligns with the broader goals of the Skill India Mission and the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.

The newly established Centre will focus on delivering advanced training in next-generation technologies including Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning, Robotics, Internet of Things (IoT), Cybersecurity, Blockchain, and Smart Manufacturing. More than 40 online and hybrid courses will be made available for students enrolled in ITI, Diploma, undergraduate, and postgraduate programs.

Shri Ved Mani Tiwari, CEO of NSDC, emphasized the collaboration’s focus on creating training infrastructure for high-demand fields such as renewable energy and semiconductors.

Dr S Sundar Manoharan, Director General of PDEU, highlighted the university’s efforts to transform its infrastructure into hubs for advanced skill training.

PDEU has integrated industry-standard manufacturing lines like a 45 MW Solar PV Manufacturing Line and an ATMP Semiconductor Packaging Line within its campus. These facilities aim to bridge the gap between academia and industry while fostering innovation in renewable energy technologies.
