Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar pitched for investments in Skill Development while asserting the availability of 50,000 high skilled jobs in aviation manufacturing sector in the next 2-3 years.
He said, Defence firms could invest in skill development to comply with their required commitment under the new off-set policy. Speaking at an event organized by Wadhwani Foundation, the Minister, Parrikar added that the Government is also considering venture capitalist investment in defence sector.
While speaking as a former entrepreneur, he also said that the start-ups should be given five year relaxation from taxes and other regulations. Incidentally, Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s new initiative Start-up India offers a three-year tax rebate.
