Women from Minority to get Rs 1000 stipend per month while getting ‘Skilled’ under Mahila Samridhi Yojana

New Delhi : Apart from other schemes which are available to all, including women, the Ministry of Minority Affairs on Tuesday implemented three specific schemes for women on Tuesday.

Union Minister Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi announced these schemes in the Rajya Sabha. These schemes are Nai-Roshni for Leadership Development of Minority Women, Begum Hazrat Mahal National Scholarship for meritorious Girls and Mahila Samridhi Yojana.

Nai – Roshni for Leadership Development of Minority Women focuses on the development of women belonging to minority communities with an aim to empower and instill confidence in women by providing knowledge, tool and techniques for interacting with government system and others at all levels.

Begum Hazrat Mahal National Scholarship For Meritorious Girls is belonging to minorities which is implemented through Maulana Azad Education Foundation.

Mahila Samridhi Yojana is implemented through National Minorities Development and Finance Corporation (NMDFC) wherein skill development training is imparted to a group of women in various areas of trades. The training period is of maximum six months where they are provided with a stipend of Rs.1000/- per trainee.

These schemes are initiated to empower women belonging to the minority community and to encourage them further.
