Government of India has been actively trying to skill young Indians so that they can become job providers and not just be job seekers. Recently former Indian cricketer and legend Sachin Tendulkar extended his support to Skill India which aims at providing skill training to Indian youth. The aim of Prime Minister Narendra Modi is to make India the skill capital of the world.
In a similar effort the Artificial Limbs Manufacturing Corporation Limited (ALIMCO), working under the Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities, Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, conducted a mega distribution camp for Aids and Assistive Devices, in Bareilly yesterday in which 1,578 beneficiaries were provided with state-of-the-art high-end technical devices over by Mr. Thawar Chand Gehlot, Union Minister of Social Justice and Empowerment, in the presence of Mr. Santosh Kumar Ganwar, Minister of State of Textiles, Member of Parliament, Bareilly.
Dr Vinod Aggarwal, secretary DEPwD said that the Department was not only providing Assistive devices to PwDs but has also provided skill training to over 1 lakh PwDs in the past one year. He also briefed about the various activities happening for betterment of person with disabilities done by the department.
