Hazaribagh : Bhopal-based AISECT University, which is India’s first Skills University where skill development programmes are a compulsory part of the course curriculum, has set up AISECT University, Jharkhand at Matwani in Hazaribagh district of Jharkhand.
The new campus is spread across 25,000 sq.ft. with highly advanced computer laboratories, digitalized libraries, multi skill centre, training and placement cell, industrial tie-ups and entrepreneurial opportunities. This will be the second campus of AISECT University in the country.
At present, the proposed curriculum of AISECT University Hazaribagh comprises of Undergraduate and Post Graduate programmes under six Faculties including Management, Commerce, Computer Science & IT, Agriculture, Art and Vocational Educational. The University will also offer M. Phil. and Ph.D. courses in the years to come.
“In the present era, there is a need for educational programmes which focus exclusively on skill enhancement thereby giving a boost to the practical efficiencies of the youth,” said Santosh Kumar Choubey, Chancellor, AISECT University.
“We, at AISECT University, aim at making our students competent and professional. We believe in their holistic development of the students and that’s why our goal is not only to provide them standardized education and training, but also to enhance students’ skill-set so that they are ready to face the hurdles of the professional world as soon as they step out of the University,” Choubey added.
He thanked the Jharkhand Government and the Chief Minister Raghubar Das, for giving an approval for establishing this campus.
Choubey further said, “So far the response has been overwhelming with more than 500 queries having been received for admissions. Considering the tremendous reaction that we have received, we are hoping that over 1,000 students will enroll themselves for the academic session 2016-17.”
AISECT University was launched in 2012 in Bhopal by AISECT, which is a social enterprise working in the areas of skill development, higher education, financial inclusion and other ICT based services.
