New Delhi : Association of Hospitality Professional (AHP) and Prospurs Pte. Ltd. along with Tourism & Hospitality Skill Council (THSC) organized a culinary Skill Challenge for aspiring chefs from all around the nation. The Event was organized at Indian Hotel Academy and witnessed over 35 skill students. The challenge was planned in an attempt to their contribution to the skill India mission by the Government of India. The idea is to popularize Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of skilling the youth of India, therefore diminishing unemployment.
The hospitality students got chance to show their culinary skills by preparing multiple cuisines from around the world. The jury for the competition included top notch names from the culinary fraternity, thus creating a talent hunt opportunity for the aspiring chefs who are undergoing training under ‘Multi-cuisine Cooks’ under Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana. The students will get a chance to meet and network, thereby creating a platform for the enhancement and overall development of the national community of chefs.
Chef Vivek Saggar, Head-Business Development Tourism and Hospitality Skill Council, said, “The objective of the challenge is to act as a link, a platform and an instrument for the enhancement and overall development of the national community of chefs. With this Challenge, we hope to participate in the Government’s Skill India Mission by providing right platform to the trainees from ‘Multi-Cuisine Cook’ under Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana to meet and network and learn about the industry from the Master Chefs of the industry. I am sure it was a valuable experience for the entire chef and will surely maximize their potential and growth in the sector”
