New Delhi: Boeing and Air India today announced to coming together to open a finishing school in Mumbai to skill trained engineers to be absorbed in airlines.
These finishing schools will train the engineers coming out of DGCA-trained training institute for six to eight months and then these engineers can be absorbed by the industry. In the first batch, about 35 engineers will be available post training to be absorbed in airlines in India.
“Skills are required and quality skills are required. And India need to maintain its brilliant safety record. We all look forward to the success of this quality training programme,” said aviation minister Ashok Gajapati Raju.
“This was solve the problem of AMEs, who have diploma. This will train engineers with diploma and improve their employability,” minister of state Jayant Sinha announced. The event was also attended by Air India CMD Ashwani Lohani, SpiceJet CMD Ajay Singh, Vistara CEO Phee Teik Yeoh.
All these airlines executives said that skilled people is a problem in India, which is one of the fastest growing market in the world and this institute will help Indian aviation bridge that.
