New Delhi : French Minister of State for Ecological and Inclusive Transition Brune Poirson inaugurated a solar lab and solar energy training centre at Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Kendra (PMKVK) here at Mandir Marg on Sunday.
Ms. Poirson said the project, an initiative by the New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC), will help in skill development training of the city’s youth. She added that it will provide them with better employment opportunities.
NDMC chairman Naresh Kumar said the initiative will focus on high quality training and better employment from every section of society. He added that the facility has the capacity to skill 4,000 people every year.
“As many as 30,000 youth will be imparted skill development training in various fields by the end of 2022. Since its inception in October last year, over 1,920 students have be trained under the solar energy and health sector during the current session”, he added.
The initiative is a joint venture between Schneider Electric India Foundation (SEIF) and NDMC for digital transformation of energy management and automation with the skill development in employable youth.
