Haryana Government has decided to impart skill based training programs in all Govt. high schools. These skill trainings will be given to the classes IX and X, where number of students are more than 80. This will benefit students to apply for the apprenticeship and to start their own venture, said Haryana Education Minister Ram Bilas Sharma. He also said that training programs were being imparted under the central govt. scheme for vocationalization of secondary and higher secondary education and, Haryana has to play a lead role by effective implementation.
The skill training will impart from the academic session 2017-18. At first stage, all district level schooling officers and authorities have to identify schools and submit the proposal on prescribed formats latest by January 3, 2017.
Updates given by Education Minister Ram Bilas Sharma:
— Students of Govt. Senior Secondary and higher secondary Schools would be a part of the skill training programs. Training will be imparted to the classes with more than 80 students.
— After training, students would be able to apply for apprenticeship. Based on the skills they can also get jobs or they would be able to start their own venture.
— Students have the opportunity to get trained on multiple skills. Skills like music, apparel, security, telecom, logistics, life science and health care would be imparted to students in schools.
Govt. has additionally started a Multi-skill development center at Udyog Vihar. Organizations in IT and ITSE segment will train the disabled people. After successful completion of their training, they will be hired by companies.
Under CSR initiatives, the administration has also outlined an IT lab through Haryana State Electronics Development Corporation Limited (Hartron).
