Hyderabad: The Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University-Hyderabad (JNTU-H) and NASSCOM on Saturday signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for undertaking skill development training in emerging technologies.
The MoU, which has been signed as part of the golden jubilee celebrations of the JNTU-H, will help the university’s students to acquire necessary skills anytime and anywhere with continuous self-paced learning. During the event, JNTU-H Vice Chancellor Prof. Katta Narasimha Reddy spoke about the importance of the MoU with NASSCOM and emphasized the significance of digital transformation.
NASSCOM Vice-President and Head (Membership & Outreach) Srikanth Srinivasan said talent shortage was a universal issue being faced by every economy as the current demand stands at 20 times the available talent pool. For India to become a trillion dollar digital economy, it was crucial that industry, academia and the government unite their efforts towards reducing the demand-supply gap via mass skilling, Srinivasan said.

JNTU-H Prof. A Govardhan said the MoU would help university students in up-skilling and deep skilling in emerging technologies.
