Dharwad : A skill development centre (SDC) has been established in Karnatak University. The vice-chancellor is all set to float a circular regarding the centre where classes will start in September. H R Ramaswamy, in-charge director of Human Resource Development Centre, said that despite good educational background many students fail to get jobs as a majority of them come from rural area and lack soft skills. He said 60 students will be admitted through an entrance examination. “We have already listed six resources persons to train the students.
We will run the class in batches. We are planning three batches a year. Around Rs 9 lakhs will be spent for this in the first phase,” he said.Raju J, a student, said the centre students who are interested in personality development which will help them in getting jobs.
