Skills Minister Dharmendra Pradhan invites Meta to contribute in skill enhancement of Indian workforce

New Delhi: Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan recently met with Nick Clegg, President of Global Affairs at Meta, to discuss the potential of Meta’s technology in skill development and empowering the youth in Odisha and India as a whole.

During the meeting, Pradhan emphasised the importance of utilizing Meta’s technology to empower the youth of Odisha and the entire country, urging Clegg to take the necessary steps in this direction.

The minister also discussed the possibilities of young entrepreneurs leveraging Meta’s technology to grow their businesses, reach wider audiences, and improve marketing strategies and overall operations. Meta’s technological tools can provide these entrepreneurs with new avenues for reaching wider audiences, enhancing their marketing strategies, and improving overall business operations, he added.

As a gesture of cultural exchange, Dharmendra Pradhan presented Nick Clegg with a traditional palm leaf painting known as ‘pattachitra’ from Odisha while taking the opportunity to discuss the rich art, culture, and traditions of the state, showcasing its cultural heritage on the national and global stage.

Further, he mentioned that the National Education Policy envisioned by Prime Minister Narendra Modi encourages technology-driven education. Integrating advanced technologies, such as those offered by Meta, aligns with the policy’s objectives of fostering digital literacy and enhancing learning experiences.

He invited Meta to strengthen entrepreneurship as well as the #DigitalIndia and #SkillIndia mission for enhancing the digital skills of India’s population as per the vision of the Honorable Prime Minister of India. By collaborating with the government on these programs, he stated, Meta can contribute significantly to the technological advancement and skill enhancement of the nation’s workforce.
