Punjab : In a major relief to the unemployed youths in the state of Punjab, the Captain Amarinder Singh-led Punjab Government is now offering over 45000 jobs under the ‘Ghar Ghar Rozgar’ scheme. The state government is offering a total of 45,747 jobs on the official website of the scheme at www.ghargharrozgar.punjab.gov.in. This scheme was announced on February 22, during the second phase of the Mega Job Melas that was organised by the state government from February 20 to March 8. A total number 1689 employers have posted jobs for 45,747 posts on the official website.
According to a press release, “as many as 73,200 applicants have registered on the portal in the hope of getting their employment letters at the 140 events being conducted at 56 venues as part of these fairs, being held in collaboration with Industry, Educational Institutes, Universities and Sector Skill Council.”
Employment Generation Minister Manpreet Singh Badal while applealing to the youth in the state who are currently unemployed, to participate in maximum numbers said that job seekers with any type of qualifications can register and appear for placement. He further added that the posts are open for final year students also and they can also register to take part in the same.
Approximately 4500 job vacancies have been posted under the category of Sector Skill Council, according to the official spokesperson of the Punjab Government. He added that these jobs will be provided on the basis of skills acquired by the job seeker through skill training. Majority of the jobs offered under the category of Sector Skill Council are in the area of hospitality, beauty and wellness and tourism. The spokesperson then went on to elaborate on the launch of the portal by the state government in order to facilitate the employment drive. While talking about the objective of the official website of Ghar Ghar Rozgar, he said that it was to provide a one-stop interactive platform for the job seekers and employers.

While uploading their qualification/ skill/ experience, the job seekers can shortlist the employer, who can also shortlist the job seekers as per their requirement. The portal automatically shows the relevant jobs to the job seekers while matching their skills/ education/experience, according to the press release.
