Agartala : Tripura chief minister Manik Sarkar on Tuesday directed officials of the Tripura State Skill Development Mission to provide skill development training to youngsters and help them become financially independent.
Chairing a review meeting of the TSSDM, the chief minister asked the officials to submit a detailed report on skill development projects taken up by them in the last three years. He also asked them to arrange for refresher courses for skilled entrepreneurs after assessing the employment opportunities in the state and beyond.
Sarkar said job prospects in the state had become limited and contractual employment had become the norm in both the government and private sectors. As a result, the workforce of the country as a whole, and the northeast in particular, had been facing a serious problem in earning their living, he said.
