Apparel, Made-Ups and Home Furnishing Sector Skill Council CEO, Dr. Roopak Vasishtha got awarded from the Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment

New Delhi: Apparel, Made-Ups and Home Furnishing Sector Skill Council, which is the certifying body in Apparel Sector for NSQF complied certification received Special Award from the National Backward Class Financial Development Corporation (NBCFDC). The award was given by Sh. Thawarchand Gehlaut, Hon’ble Minister for Social Justice and Empowerment during the Silver Jubilee function of NBCFDC at PHD Chamber of Commerce, New Delhi in recognition of the dedicated efforts undertaken by the AMH SSC for the skill development of people of backward classes in the Apparel Sector.

The award was received by Dr. Roopak Vasishtha, CEO, AMHSSC on behalf of the Council. During the ceremony Dr. Roopak reiterated the commitment of AMH SSC for the upliftment of people of backward classes, in collaboration with NBCFDC. He also mentioned that in 2015-16, total 2200 persons of backward community were trained and certified and in 2016-17, more than 3000 persons are being trained and certified in different parts of the country. He also mentioned that the best part of these trainings was training and certification of 40 girls of nomadic tribes in Gurgaon.

Sh. Thaawarchand Gehlot, Minister for Social Justice and Empowerment inaugurated the Silver Jubilee celebrations of National Backward Classes Finance & Development Corporation (NBCFDC), a Govt. of India Undertaking under the aegis of Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Sh. Ramdas Athawale, Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment, Smt. Latha Krishna Rao, Secretary, M/o SJ&E and many dignitaries were present.

In his address, Shri Gehlot said that the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment is working through channelizing agencies and banking institutions in all States for the welfare of backward classes. He said that all Corporations under his ministry are working very effectively in the service of needy persons. M/o Social Justice and Empowerment organizes Job Fairs regularly through its Corporations for providing Jobs to the youths of these classes. He opined that Training improves the personality. He said that without “People’s participation”, such schemes can’t succeed. He called upon people to take advantage of various schemes of these corporations of Ministry of social Justice and empowerment.

Shri Gehlot distributed the performance Awards to the Channel Training partners of NBCFDC and launched the pilot of Loan & Employee Information Automation Project (LEAP) system. He released a short film “Hamari Kahani” based on the experiences of beneficiaries of NBCFDC and a book entitled “Safalata Ki Kahaniyan” brought out by NBCFDC on the success stories of the beneficiaries on the occasion.
