IPSC launched “Plumbacharya – Digital School of Plumbing”

On the Occasion of World Youth Skills Day (15th July 2020) Indian Plumbing Skills Council, launched “Plumbacharya – Digital School of Plumbing” an Online Learning Management System. The LMS is equipped with facilities like Content Management, Video Demonstration Features, Webinars, Multiple Interfaces, Live Classes, and much more. The Portal looks promising to carry out the Training & Certification process digitally and is easy to use as well.

The inaugural ceremony was carried out digitally by IPSC in association with PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry and was attended by the Dignitaries from the Government, NSDC, and Industry as well. Shri Sanjay Kumar, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, graced the meeting as a Chief Guest and Ms Vandana Bhatnagar, Chief Program Manager, NSDC attended as the Guest of Honour.

The session began with the opening remarks by Mr. Vishal Jindal (Chairman, Skill & Entrepreneurship Development committee, PHD Chambers) who was of the view that the LMS, Plumbacharya, launched by the Indian Plumbing Skills Council was the need of the hour & appreciated IPSC for the timely release of the portal.

Dr. RK Somany (Chairman, IPSC) delivered the Inaugural Address by Welcoming all the Dignitaries and Guests. Dr. Somany apprised the audience about various efforts made by IPSC to combat Covid-19 pandemic from distributing food to donating in the PM Cares relief fund and from creating Special Covid-19 Guidelines to releasing a database of more than 900 plumbers who were actually available to work during Covid. Dr. Somany mentioned about the Timeliness of Plumbacharya, highlighting this as the right time for IPSC to carry out digital trainings by bringing the learner and the trainer even closer.

After officially launching the portal, Sh. Sanjay Kumar, congratulated IPSC for creating something of its own kind. He emphasized the importance of going digital in COVID-19 times. Mr. Sanjay Kumar appreciated IPSC and said that the SSC could be a flag bearer for many in this process. He assured the IPSC, complete cooperation from the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs for all future endeavors and stated that their new Champion Sector Scheme is aimed at promotion of important trades such Plumbing.

Guest of Honour, Ms Vandana Bhatnagar expressed her delight about the port launched by IPSC and congratulated all involved. She also mentioned this is a welcome step towards digital dissemination of training.

IPSC Governing Board Member and NOS Committee Chairman Mr MK Gupta commented on the vast possibilities that this portal promises and more job roles that will be added as we move ahead.

IPSC Vice Chairman Mr Vinay Gupta mentioned in his address about the importance of bringing all professionals and industry together for the success of this portal and also apprised the audience of the first partnership of Plumbacharya with HSIL Ltd to digitally skill and certify about 10,000 plumbers.

Mr V Srinivas commented on the Virtual Tour of the Iconic Plumbing Lab and how it will help raise the Aspirational value for the trade of Plumbing.

Maj Gen TK Chadha delivered the Vote of Thanks and wished all involved in launch of the event. The program was also graced by Plumbing industry veterans and the Governing Board Members of IPSC.
