Life Sciences Sector Skill Development Council, AP State Skill Development Council and CSIR-Indian Institute of Chemical Technology (CSIR-IICT) jointly launched program “Pratyancha”

Kadapa : Pratyancha, a skill development programme on advanced pharma and biotechnology launched at Yogi Vemana University (YVU) here on Saturday. Delivering the key note address, Task Force Committee on Pharma & Biotechnology Convener Srinivas Shankar Prasad stated that the course is jointly certified by Life Sciences Sector Skill Development Council (LSSSDC), AP State Skill Development Council (APSSDC), and CSIR-Indian Institute of Chemical Technology (CSIR-IICT).

The programme is jointly certified by Life Sciences Sector Skill Development Council (LSSSDC), AP State Skill Development Council (APSSDC), and CSIR-Indian Institute of Chemical Technology (CSIR-IICT). The course is a mix of theory lessons and practical hands-on training through independent small projects.

The hands-on training will be conducted at CSIR-IICT, Hyderabad. Theory sessions will be conducted by leading industry experts from the biotechnology, pharma and allied industries.

LSSSDC certification is mandate for industry placement as per the circular issued by the Drug Controller General of India, Prasad said. YVU Vice- Chancellor Prof A Ramachandra Reddy has expressed happiness over the selection of YVU as one of the four nodal centres in the state. Sixty students will be selected from Kadapa. The programme is offered at a subsidized rate of Rs 20,000 which will help the student to get a suitable and respectable employment, he added.

Pharmexil DG Dr Uday Bhaskar, DBT Senior Advisor Dr T S Rao, former MD of NABARD Dr PVA Rama Rao, CSIR-IICT Principal Scientist Dr China Raju, Sri Biotech Director Dr KRK Reddy and Lepakshi Biotech MD Sudhakar Konda also spoke. The programme was presided by Chief Programme Coordinator of Pratyancha Dr Bal Kumar Marthi. YVU Registrar Prof K Chandraiah, YVU College Principal Prof K. Satyanarayana Reddy, staff and students were present.
