Hyderabad : As part of Skill India Initiative, Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) programme which was launched at Hyderabad by Media and Entertainment Skills Council (MESC), a sector skill council under National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC).
Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) is a program to assess and recognise the individual’s prior learning skills, which
was obtained informally and help them get equal acceptance as of formal education. This was a certification program recognised by the government of India.

Addressing after launching of the programme, Telangana Minister for Employment Ch Malla Reddy said he strongly believe that this programme was very much necessary to skill up the individuals working in media sector, enabling greater employment opportunities who learn on their jobs with no formal education.
Moreover, there was a dire need to empower industry to global standards, which was possible only with internationally acceptable levels of assessment and certification, the Minister added.
Speaking on the occasion, MESC Advisor(South Region) Pratibha Pulijala said this was one of the biggest
skill development program in the country giving away the most prestigious and credible certification enabling the beneficiaries to avail identity and getting recognised as formal professionals.
This Certification was executed by her in all six states starting from Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, and Kerala in Media and entertainment skills from films to television to Photography to graphics, animations to print media, she further said.

”We are tying up with different institutions like Telugu film Association 24 crafts, Television Employer Association (TTT&WF), Telangana films Association 24 crafts, Chennai film Association 24 crafts (FEFSI), Kerala film Association 24 crafts (FEFKA) and Film studios like Annapurna Studios, Photriya Academy, Laxwel adds and recording studios, Telangana Film employees Federation among others”, she informed.
MESC has a mandate to create 11.74 lakh skilled manpower by 2022 and contribute to the National Skill Mission.
Ms Pratibha who would lead the program, would conduct free for participants December 18 and 19 in the city and this free program (RPL) would be done for dancers, actors, script writers, sound editors, digital marketing managers, community journalists, graphic designers.
