Telecom Sector Skill Council signs tripartite MoU with TiE and IESA to setup IoT Skill Center in Bengaluru

Bengaluru : Telecom Sector Skill Council (TSSC), The Indus Entrepreneurs (TiE) & India Electronics & Semiconductor Association (IESA) have signed a tripartite Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to set up a Skill Centre (COE) for skill development in Internet of Things (IoT) sector in Bengaluru.

The organizations believe that the essence of the MoU/ CoE is to provide world class skills and certified manpower to support roll-out, proliferation and maintenance of the IoT deployments, with a focus on semi-urban and rural segments. IoT related vocational training courses will be provided at the Skill Center. The MoU was signed between Lt Gen (Retd) Dr S P Kochhar, CEO, Telecom Sector Skill Council, Krishnamoorthy Krishnan, Chairman IESA and Naganand Doraswamy, President TiE.

This MoU would help complement each other’s technical capabilities and industry reach, to achieve a common goal of skilling India in the IoT domain. TiE, IESA and TSSC training partners will synergize their efforts and conduct approved courses, resulting in improved proliferation of IoT courses in India.

The MoU aims at consolidating the efforts and resources of three major entities – TSSC, TiE & IESA in bringing the benefits of IoT training to the youth, with to increase their employability prospects. IoT, as a technology, holds a huge potential and promises with applicability across sectors. Country’s vision of Smart Cities, Digital India, connected ecosystems and Assisted decision making centered around big-data and analytics, has strong links to IoT solutions / deployments.

Digital economy has converged its multi-disciplinary facts of IT, Hardware, Big Data and Connectivity with internet of Things (IoT), enabling a much more agile, efficient and cost effective service offering than in the past with partnerships and ecosystems.
