Tourism & Hospitality Skill Council (THSC), a dedicated sector skill council for the tourism and hospitality industry under the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC), has started a drive to enroll Associate Members into the Council from the stake-holding industries, to strengthen the industry-trainer interactions to make the skilling objective more purposeful. The annual membership fee is set at Rs 2,000 per annum.
Informing this, Praveen Roy, CEO, THSC said that the Associate Membership will offer various benefits to industry stakeholders including direct access to the digital platform where industry meets the skilled manpower. Such members can also post their current and future manpower requirements and skill set requirements so that training institutes can prepare manpower tailor-made to perform such tasks. Among other benefits, the Membership will help to get all existing employees of the Member organization to be assessed and certified in alignment with the government’s certification norms through Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL).
Roy said that the Council will organize industry meets across the country to create awareness about the membership benefits over the next few months. The target, he said, is to enroll at least 500 Associate Members by the end of this year and over a 1,000 over a period of next two years.
