Raipur : A total of three lakh youth in Chhattisgarh have been provided employment-oriented skill development training under Prime Minister and Chief Minister Skill Development Schemes in the span of last four years.
This information was provided by Higher Education, Technical Education and Skill Development Minister Prem Prakash Pandey. He was inaugurating the video conference hall in Skill Development Authority Office on Friday. This video conference hall has been constructed in Chief Minister Skill Development Authority and Livelihood Office at old Police Headquarters in Raipur.
On the occasion Pandey addressed Commissioners and District Collectors through video conference and took information regarding skill development and revenue.
Pandey said in his address that the State Government is conducting many such schemes for providing self-employment opportunities to youth of Chhattisgarh, so that under-educated youth may avail them to become self-dependent.
The Minister took note of the courses being conducted in Livelihood Colleges of all 27 districts, and also about the construction of college buildings.
Pandey emphasized over the need of increasing number of youths in training centres of Vocational Training Provider (VTP). He said that Collectors should regularly monitor the government and the private VTPs and check that whether these VTPs have facilities as per the given standards or not.
The Minister insisted upon the providing counseling and market-oriented skill development training to youngsters. He directed the officials to ensure proper publicity and promotion of the scheme so that each and every interested youth of the State may avail the benefits of the scheme.
