CPF (Centre for People’s Forestry) is a Civil Society Organization. It is a non-profit, non-political and secular organization, working for the development of forest, rural communities and other resource poor people, especially the deprived and marginalized sections. CPF strives towards the emancipation of the forest and rural communities through the realization of their rights and access, control and management of their natural resources in a sustainable way. Capacity development, advocacy and policy influence for an improved quality of life and increased livelihood opportunities are the organization’s key initiatives and contributions for the underprivileged.
As part of the multi-thematic works being carried out in the rurals of Vijayawada Parliamentary Constituency, Krishna district, CPF is implementing a project “Informal Sector Workers initiative” supported by Tata Trusts. The project proposes to demonstrate better ways to make skills development more inclusive for people with low literacy. Under this, Skill Development would be focus area of the program, developing skills of youth in complex and challenging situations.
Statistics indicate 92.6% of persons in the age group of 15-59 have not attained any form of skill training. This has emerged as a key area of intervention to improve the quality of life and reduce the vulnerabilities of this segment.

Thematic Area/Subject Area : Training: On job, apprenticeship mode and entrepreneurship, orientation to Skill Mitras.
Overall Goal: To enable the unemployed youth to adopt a means of better livelihood in order to lead a dignified life.
Objective: To improve the socio-economic status of youth through employment–linked skill based training.
Specific Objectives:
1) Mobilization of students and Counseling,
2) Training: on job, apprenticeship entrepreneurship mode.
• Job Oriented Skills through Type1SMEs.

Location: Ibrahimpatnam, Near Vijayawada, Krishna District, Andhra Pradesh
Remuneration: Cost To Organization (CTO) will be from 4.2 to 4.5 lakhs per annum commensurate based on qualification and experience.
Job Profile: He/she would spearhead the project and take the responsibility to implement various activities of project to ensure successful demonstration and sustainability of the initiative to its optimum level.
• Developing a strong relationship and build tie-ups with local businesses, training institutes and CSRs to promote skills development and entrepreneurship for informal sector workers
• Sustainability and scalability of the program is an important aspect of this initiative. To work towards achieving the key objectives and document different approaches adopted and protocols developed for standardizing the skills development and entrepreneurship for informal sector workers.
• Responsible for capacity building of program team (Mandal In-charges and Youth Mobilizers), creating linkages and act as a resource to provide support to project team.
• Rapport building with key stakeholders including skilling partners, industry, Government officials and the beneficiaries.
• Develop mechanism to assess the impact of the project
• Periodically monitor and appraise the ongoing works related to project through regular field visits.
• Ensure to develop resource materials related to the projects, time to time
• Prepare periodical/annual reports for submission to the resource agency as per their guidelines.
• Document the experiences of ongoing work and carry out action research involving the stakeholders
Competencies- Skills Sets :
• Minimum 5-7 years of experience in relevant sector.
• Good communication skills in Telugu, English and Hindi
• Interpersonal & group skills
• Ability to build and sustain partnerships with Government, Industries & institutes,
• Flexibility and willing to travel extensively in field.
• Proven ability to lead and manage project teams
• Experience in negotiating, coordinating with governments.
• Working knowledge of computer application is must
Desired candidate’s profile:
• Master’s degree or equivalent in rural management, economics, social sciences, development studies and related fields.
• Atleast 5 years experience
• Fair knowledge of NGO sector
