Guntur : Stating that the teachers have to play a major role in the skill development of students, Andhra Pradesh State Skill Development Corporation (APSSDC) founder director Dr. K. Lakshminarayana called upon all the faculty members of engineering colleges to make use of the centres of excellence to tune the future of their students. He said that teachers should keep in mind that they will also have to take the blame if their students do not excel in the future.
Addressing a conference held at Vasireddy Venkatadri Institute of Technology (VVIT) here on Wednesday, Dr Lakshminarayana said that Finland gives the highest importance to teachers only to shape up their children better. He said that a teacher can bring revolutionary changes in the society and generations through his teachings. He urged all teaching community to be more interactive with students and yield necessary skill development in them.
Special secretary to the government, Professor Ghanta Subba Rao suggested all engineering colleges to utilize the infrastructure developed at Seimens’ Centre of Excellence (CoE) at VVIT.
VVIT chairman Vasireddy Vidya Sagar said that the sensitization program on the usage of Siemens’ Centre of Excellence by the students. He said that the meeting was aimed at the skill development of AP students. APSSDC project director Dr. B.Nageswar Rao stated that the Siemens CoE at VVIT is on par with the global standards. He said that APSSDC founded Siemens CoE has better state-of-the-art laboratory facilities than that of many international universities. Nageswar Rao did a comparative analysis of various CoEs at Hyderabad and different places in India and explained how the Siemens CoE at VVIT was superior to all of them.
In-charge vice-chancellor of JNTU-K Professor S RamaKrishna said that engineering colleges can hone the skills of their students by using the centre.
VVIT secretary Badari Prasad, Academic Secretary M.SreeKrishna, VVIT-Principal Dr.Y.Mallikarjuna Reddy, Dean of Academics Prof. N.Kumara Swamy and Siemens Centre of Excellence SPOC Dr.Naveen Ravela were present along with all AP Engineering Colleges Principals.
