Jammu & Kashmir : Minister for Information Technology, Technical Education and Youth Services & Sports, Imran Raza Ansari, reviewed the progress of skill development mission in the State and sought urgent steps to be taken so that the mission takes off in Jammu and Kashmir.
The meeting was also attended by Secretary, Technical Education, Saleem Shishgar, Consultant skill development mission, Manish Sabharwal and other officers of the department.
The meeting discussed various aspects of the state’s skill development mission, including skill mapping, infrastructure, capacity building, skill upgradation and courses for employability and entrepreneurship.
It was noted that skill development is a critical sector that needs attention to overcome the problem of unemployment in the state. The meeting also discussed various initiatives to be taken with regard to skill development which includes setting up of Skill Development universities in the state.
