Itanagar : In all, 61 candidates leaving for diploma and degree courses to Team Lease Skills University, Vadodara in Gujarat were given an official send-off at the state Banquet Hall here on Sunday by Deputy Chief Minister, Chowna Mein.
This is a part of the programme initiated by Chief Minister, Pema Khandu to provide 115 youths of the state with high-end job oriented diploma and degree courses in Hotel Management, IT, BBA, B.Com and laboratory technician in Team Lease University at Vadodara, Gujarat.
The courses will be completely sponsored by the state government, which includes their travel expense, boarding and college fees. In this regard, MoU was signed between the Director of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship, Subu Tabin and Vikram Pandey of Provost Team Lease University, in presence of Commissioner Finance, Planning & Investment Ashish Kundra at Itanagar recently. As per the agreement, Team Lease University will provide placement to at least 70 percent of the candidates with minimum monthly salary of Rs 12,000 for diploma courses and Rs 15,000 for degree courses.
Tabin informed that the 61 students in the first batch will leave on Sunday evening by bus from Itanagar to Guwahati from where they will board the train for onward journey to Vadodara. The candidates are escorted by female and male officials from Team Lease University from Itanagar onwards.
He also informed that skill development is a national flagship programme, and under the Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana, the state government aims to provide skill development and entrepreneurship training to 9,838 youths within this financial year and by the end of year 2020, at least 29,800 youths will be provided with skill development training.
Tabin further informed that vocational training on skill development and livelihood is also provided by the Government of Arunachal in all the five Industrial Training Institutes of the state, and urged unemployed youths to avail the benefits provided by the government.
