Shimla : A Technology Centre is coming up at Baddi in Himachal Pradesh with a cost of Rs 102 crore which will provide technological support and tooling facilities to micro, small and medium enterprises (MSME) sector. A land measuring 100 bighas has already been provided at Bhatoli-Kalan village for this purpose.
The centre provide technological support and tooling facilities to micro, small and medium sector enterprises and also help in skill development and up-gradation of unemployed youth, an official spokesperson has recently said. He said that around 3659 industrial units have been established in Himachal Pradesh during the last four years with an investment of rupees 3581.48 crore and providing employment to 48422 youth.
Shailesh Aggarwal, President, Baddi Barootiwala Nalagarh Industries Association (BBNIA) said though there is contribution of the central government, the state government too has always tried to facilitate the industrial sector considering the development in the state.
“State government has tried its level best to introduce various industrial parks for the advancement in the sector,” said Aggarwal. He stressed on the need to promote MSME sector for economic growth of the country.
According to the official spokesperson, State Level Single Window Clearance and Monitoring Authority approved 283 industrial proposals involving investments worth rupees 13262.27 crore and employment potential of 26,680 persons. Besides 7054 employment opportunities were created by effective implementation of Prime Minister Employment Generation Programme and loans worth rupees 23.93 crore were distributed to the youth to start their self-employment ventures.
To boost exports from the state, an inland container depot has been constructed at Baddi at a cost of rupees 14.42 crore. A trade centre has also been established there at an investment of rupees 10.81 crore as well as a warehouse at an outlay of rupees 26.89 crore.
