Patna : The Centre for Environment, Energy and Climate Change (CEECC) on Tuesday started its training session on Green Skill Development Programme (GSDP) of Union ministry of environment, forest and climate change at Asian Development Research Institute (ADRI).
GSDP, which is a project of the environmental information division of the ministry, has been designed in collaboration with the National Skill Development Agency to tackle the environmental challenges through green skills among the youths to fight environmental degradation and climate change.
CEECC is the pan India lead centre for water auditing and budgeting course and is hosting this course with its knowledge partner EPTRI, Hyderabad.
The GSDP course includes training sessions on water budgeting and auditing and pollution monitors. A total of 41 participants in the age group of 20 to 35 years from various academic disciplines turned up for the orientation programme on Tuesday.
Experts from various sectors like academicians, activists, environmentalists will impart training to the participants in the classroom as well as on field in an interdisciplinary manner during the 45-day programme.
“Social scientists alone cannot change the world by their inventions or policies, but the entire community has to work together in order to get the schemes implemented,” said Dr P P Ghosh, director at ADRI.
CEECC director Abinash Mohanty interacted with all the participants who briefed about their relevant skills and works in the field. GSDP coordinator and information officer of CEECC, Prangya Paramita Gupta, conducted the orientation where participants were briefed about the course.
