Border Area Development Programme (BADP) launched in Koloriang for skill development of Arunachal youth

Koloriang (Arunachal) : Koloriang DPO, Dr Joram Anu inaugurated a skill development and capacity building training programme under Border Area Development Programme (BADP) scheme for the unemployed youths of border blocks and flagged off a batch of trainees for undergoing training in various trades outside the district and state on Monday.

The programme was organized at the DC’s conference hall, Koloriang and attended, among others, by representatives of Vocational Training Providers (VTP).The scheme is sponsored by the Ministry of Home Affairs, GoI and implemented by Planning Department, GoAP through the District Administration to upgrade the skills of youths living in international border blocks.

The youths selected will undergo their training in several places depending on the availability of training facilities. Further, Damin ZPM Lokam Pabi inaugurated the skill development and capacity building training programme under BADP on tailoring and house wiring cum electrician, having 40 trainees in each trade at Community Hall, Damin on Monday. The ZPM encouraged the youths to participate in such events and get the optimum benefit out of it. Despite the challenges of mountainous terrain, the tailoring machines were carried to the respective blocks by the Manghi Welfare Society, led by Ngurang Tado, President of the Society.

Sarli ZPM, Pisa Yaha inaugurated the skill development and capacity building training programme under BADP on pickle making, plumbing, weaving clothes at Community Hall, Sarli. The ZPM exhorted the trainees to take full benefit of such training programmes and utilize the skill regularly.

Parsi Parlo ASM, Giogi Taniang also inaugurated a skill development and capacity building training programme under BADP on pickle making and embroidery as chief guest at Community Hall, Parsi parlo, where the ASM urged the government to continue conducting such trainings in remote places for the betterment of the poor and unemployed youths of the villages.
