Raipur : Various kinds of training courses will be conducted under Prime Minister Skill Development Scheme for the family members of martyr personnel of Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) in the State, officials informed.
Notably, Chhattisgarh received Rs 352.82 crore for Vocationalization of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education (VS&HSE) during the current financial year, the Central Government has informed.
Union Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship through National Skill Development Corporation is supporting Ministry of Human Resource and Development and State Government for implementation of the Centrally Sponsored Scheme for Vocationalisation of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education (VS&HSE) and also supporting UGC for the curriculum alignment / assessments of the three schemes namely Community College, Bachelor of Vocation (B.Voc) & DDU Kaushal Kendras which is being introduced in colleges and universities.
The Central Government has already started inviting project proposals under Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Grameen Kaushalya Yojana (DDU-GKY) in Chhattisgarh to provide a major boost to skill development of rural youth.
It may be recalled that Technical Education Minister Prem Prakash Pandey had informed during budget session of Chhattisgarh Assembly in March this year that a total of 93,264 youth were trained in 2016-17 in all the 27 districts of the State under the Skill Development Programme.
In a written reply to BJP member Shivratan Sharma, the Minister had informed that out of 93,264 trained youth, 27116 got employment.
The State Public Works Department (PWD) has also embarked upon the work of constructing 17 new buildings for Polytechnic colleges at a cost of Rs 139 crore in 15 districts in the fiscal 2016-17.
PWD Minister Rajesh Munat had stated that four Polytechnic college buildings at a cost of Rs 31 crore had already been completed.
The construction works on the other 13 college buildings had been going on at a rapid pace. The Polytechnic college buildings had been completed at Mahasamund, Rajnandgaon,Baloda Bazar-Batapara districts and expansion plans are underway at Durg district, he said.
Munat said that 13 Polytechnic colleges buildings are being constructed in 12 districts at a cost of Rs 107.95 crore. The colleges were established under the 11th Five Year Plan as part of Central government’s Sub-mission on Polytechnic under the coordinated action for skill development.
The Polytechnic colleges are being established in states having less number of Polytechnic colleges, officials informed.
Officials further said under this scheme already nine out of 11 Polytechnic colleges have already been established in Koriya, Jashpur, Kanker, Narayanpur, Bijapur, Ramanujganj, Bilaspur, Raipur and Bastar. In Dantewada the Polytechnic College has been established with help of NMDC while in Janjgir Champa the State government has set up the college. The Central government last year announced that it will open one new Polytechnic colleges each in Kondagaon and Surajpur districts.
